The Radio Flyer Arch-Top

American Juke-boxes, TV's, and Radios have exposed many generations of listeners throughout the world to some of the greatest sounds ever made on our planet. However, since the day of its invention, it has been the Radio above all other media which continues to have the most profound effect on us.

Perhaps one of the secrets to radios success might be that it enters our ears and resonates within the walls of our bodies, as if we are not the ones playing it ... it is instead playing us. Those fabulous guitar solos and riffs have been known to alter our lives, or at least, stop us in our tracks. In fact, my own tracks have occasionally left the road because of these irresistible sounds. To say that this kind of seductive process has not resulted in dramatic increases in global guitar sales (and road accidents) since the guitar was invented, would be misleading and false.

The RADIO FLYER is a tribute to the Radio, its place in history, and its far reaching influence on the guitar. I have designed this guitar to be accelerated and immediate in response. Unlike other more conventional F-hole design instruments the presence of the RADIO FLYER will, upon playing it, appear closer to your ear. The long sustain might give the impression of a fine flat-top. It is possible to play both simple and complex phrases with the most sensitive touch. An aggressive attack on the strings will not forcefully break-up the response. And the balance always remains extraordinarily smooth with great power and volume on reserve. The dynamic response has a very wide bandwidth, as it has with all of my models. Basses are fat and punchy. The trebles are clean, clear, bright and thick.
